Everyone is Welcome - The Farm Gate is Open to All explored the issues facing women and new entrants in farming and creative responses in the context of climate change and biodiversity loss.
The day took a focus on female and new entrant participation in agriculture and food production. Pioneers in the agricultural sector and strong women shared their experiences in farming and ideas for the future. Moving away from characterising farmers as men with fixed assets + lots of machinery. Art is open to all, so is agriculture - and we feel that women are quicker to focus on climate change mitigation in agriculture. The experts led a discussion on the role of women and new entrants in agriculture, how farming is changing, and where it needs to go.
