Why Hiveshare?
Bees are threatened due to a complicated mix of environmental factors, chemicals used by garden owners and farmers, and a lack of flowers/nectar. Every year, beekeepers lose hives because bees in the colony die. But recently, beekeepers are losing up to two-thirds of their hives. Queen bees are also not living as long—about three years instead of 5. This is happening across Ireland and the world.
Creating Irish honey bee sanctuaries like Brookfield Farm will preserve these valuable and unique insects for future generations.
We look after the bees as you enjoy the incredible flavours and health benefits of raw Irish honey, pure beeswax handmade candles and balms from your Hiveshare subscription!
Our bees forage on trees and wildflowers; the farm’s acres of woodland are filled with bee-friendly trees, and our acres of bee meadows are colourful with wildflowers. It’s also an experience that lasts all year.
Love bees? Love nature? Love the planet? Love quality? Love Community? You’re in the right place.
The Barn:
Our Meeting Space
The “Barn” is an indoor space that functions as a dedicated event space on our working farm. Our spacious, flexible venue will host a wide range of events, such as corporate meetups and workshops.
Onsite catering is available, ranging from lunches and snacks to high-end feasts and guerilla suppers. We’ve also hosted private dinners for large-scale events and bespoke gatherings.
It is also the home of our Field Exchange Public Festival workshops, talks and exhibitions.
