About The Tour

Renowned regenerative agriculture and beekeeping expert, Ailbhe Gerrard will be on hand in this exclusive tour of Brookfield Farm.
Gain unparalleled insights from a Climate Ambassador and Farming for Nature Ambassador as you traverse private lands offering the only views connecting Counties Tipperary, Galway, and Clare.

The experience brings unique vistas across Lough Derg, an opportunity to taste raw honey directly from the source in a wildflower meadow, and a chance to learn traditional beeswax candle making.

  • Meet at Ailbhe’s farmhouse or directly at the farm to enjoy stunning views of Lough Derg.
  • Stroll up the farm lane to a unique vantage point for expansive views across Lough Derg, from Portumna to Ballina/Killaloe.
  • Explore the adjoining native woodlands, home to a mix of ash, holly, and returning oak, and spot birds of prey.
  • Traverse flower meadows and beech trees to the lakeshore, with an option to pick apples and dig for potatoes (seasonal).
  • Experience “taste the landscape” with multi-floral honey, directly linking the honey to its provenance.
  • Interact with friendly sheep in their clover field, allowing for hand-feeding moments.
  • Discover the secluded natural lakeshore, accessible only from Brookfield Farm, and learn about its rich plants and wildlife.
  • Return via an ancient stone well, tasting its natural spring water, and optionally make a beeswax candle.
