‘An inspiration’ Darina Allen
‘An Irish farm, reimagined for a changing world’ Eleanor Flegg, Irish Independent
‘A beautiful and important book’ Catherine Cleary, Irish Times
Set in the beautiful Tipperary countryside overlooking Lough Derg, this book tells the
inspirational story of Brookfield Farm Field Exchange, where one farmer’s vision
grew into a community movement connecting agriculture and creativity.
It celebrates farming not only as a private enterprise, but as a provider of vital public
goods: clean water, fertile soil, biodiversity, carbon storage, healthy landscapes and
vibrant rural communities.
Through dialogue and creative collaboration, Brookfield Farm Field Exchange offers
an inspiring vision for the future of farming and rural Ireland.
Ailbhe Gerrard, founder of Brookfield Farm, is a farmer, beekeeper, researcher, and
agricultural educator with deep interest in agriculture, creativity and regeneration.
