Agroforestry – Trees on the Farm – Creative Use of Trees exchange centred around trees and their role on a farm. Traditionally, we have separated farming and forestry. This exchange proposed the integration of trees in agriculture as an agroforestry exchange. It featured a discussion led and facilitated by Ireland’s leading specialist on agroforestry – Dr Jim McAdam – who discussed the option of integrating trees into farmland, and also integrating animals into forest plantations. The integration of these two systems can benefit both the farmer and the environment significantly.
